Anthony B. Calloway
In 2006, after thirty years of dedicated service, Battalion Chief Anthony Calloway retired as a decorated officer from the New Haven Fire Department. While a firefighter, he exhibited strength among adversity and courage in the face of danger. During his distinguished career, he aided in the harrowing rescue of a fellow firefighter and received the Department’s Medal of Valor.
A lifelong public servant, Anthony’s involvement in community service was surpassed only by his love of sports. He served as a player/coach of the department’s basketball team, Biddy Basketball, Andy Paparo T-Ball, Walter Pop Smith Little League, Association of Referees/Board 10, and many other organizations.
Chief Calloway continues his legacy of community activism and civic involvement as Chair and President of The Dan Calloway Foundation, Inc. He can be reached via email at bcacalloway@yahoo.com.
